A man who became CEO of his own loan company, Sky Finance. He earned a reputation as "The Lifeline of Kamurocho" by taking on customers who would be turned away by regular loan companies.

But instead of examining their finances, Akiyama puts his customers through a series of unique tests in an effort to test their resolve more than their pocketbooks. His path crossed with Kiryu by way of Taiga Saejima's sister, Yasuko.

In the war of five cities that enveloped the yakuza world, Akiyama found himself fighting alongside Kiryu and assisting Haruka to bring the conflict to a close.
